There's More Delicious Chocolate Cake
I previously wrote about this recipe around the time it first appeared in game. I just found a write-up on WoW Insider about Delicious Chocolate Cake. Apparently it's is involved with several of the achievments that came with the patch. They also have a real life recipe of the same title you can make outside of game.

Patch 3.0.2

Another patch is headed our way and rumors that have been flying about the Amani War Bear disappearing may be false.
What could be confusing this issue is that mounts will no longer appear in your bags but will be a tab on your character screen. Perhaps someone on the test server noticed their mount disappear and did not fully understand why. They are doing this with non-combat pets as well. Woot! The WoW gods were listening to my plea... haha! Take that you heartless AoP know it all (those that would understand this comment know what AoP stands for)! People do like to collect pets in game! But where is my bottomless quest bag? *sigh* You can't get everything at once I guess.
Other WoTLK changes appear to be headed for released in this patch including talent rebuilds, scribing (some of it) and the babershop.

Blah!
I haven't posted a while because I'm trying to recover from a nasty computer virus I got about a month ago and I'm tearing up my house again. I've been kind of bored with WoW lately and interestingly enough, I found a video on Youtube about the subject.
I'm not overly impressed with it, but I have done several of the things she mentioned to try to get interested in the game again. But I have to ask, why did it take her 9 months for her advice to work? She could have created a human being in that amount of time... might have made a more interesting video too... umm well, I don't mean that! I know what you were thinking. Sheesh! Also, in 9 months I think she would have had time to maybe try for a better cut of video. She starts off good but it kind of dwindles. I don't get her last reason. I think of having to get to level 80 and makes me NOT want to play. And, is it me or does she scratch a lot? Must be a nervous itch. I'll have to check out her website sometime but I'm not that desperate at the moment.
Hmmm, so what else is up? I'm Caffeinated again. I know they say to stay off the Caffeine, but you know, things just don't feel right decaffeinated.

Patch 2.4.3 coming to Test Realm
Woot! And people thought that there wouldn't be a patch before Lich King comes out!
Some interesting changes:
Mounts at 30! Yep, you will no longer have to wait until level 40 to have a mount. This means Jahde and Lilwarlock will be needing a group for their mount quests when the patch comes out.
Tailoring: No cooldown on regular mooncloth... dang, the price is going to drop I'm sure. A few new tailoring patterns have been added.
Herbalism: Mycah will sell a 28 slot herb bag. Ungoro soil and Evergreen pouches. Of course it will, because I think I just recently destroyed them because I was running out of room and was too lazy to finish the quest.
Mining: green gems will appear in mining nodes. I thought the drop rate had decreased. Wonder what was up with that? Smelt Hardened Khorium will now properly require a forge instead of an anvil and hammer. LOL didn't even notice that. I guess I've never made any?
Alchemy: Philosopher’s Stone requires 200 alchemy. Not sure if that's a decrease or increase atm.
NPC: Haris Pilton opens shop and will sell jewelry and bags. LOL
Keep track of time: Stopwatch and alarm added. Hmmm, no more using that kitchen timer that looks like an egg or tomato, or whatever you might have.
Hunter: Invisible players with Hunter’s Mark can see the hunter that put the mark on them. Huh? What fer? I don't get that one... maybe helpful if you play on a PVP server so you don't attack the wrong hunter I guess but I don't really get why you would need it in a battleground. Can a player see the person who cast holy fire on them? Blizz, what the heck? Explain yourselves.
Warlock: Curse of Shadows is being removed completely. I sure hope this nerfs them a bit. It ticks me off that they can throw those around on multiple mobs and kill them in the same time my hunter can kill one. Ticks me off. Let me get a few motes of water for my enchants for goodness sake! How would you like it if I could farm all your soul shards leaving none for you and sold them in the AH? Hmmm?
NPC: Banker Meeda, in Area 52 is now in the...well...the bank, along with a guild vault and guards. The other three Area 52 bankers are still located in the auction-house-turned-bank. Zomg, I'm not crazy! I was sure I remembered an AH there and not a bank.
Mobs: Gan’arg Analyzers will no longer occasionally become friendly to players. Hmmm, guess they were Bi-polar and were given meds. Now their mood is stable and will always be mean.
Several items sold by the Consortium reputation vendor Paulsta’ats are now bind on pick-up: Formula: Enchant Weapon- Major Striking, Design: Delicate Blood Garnet, Design: Shifting Shadow Draenite, Design: Lustrous Azure Moonstone, Design:Thick Golden Draenite. Better ship these to your alts while you can!

ZOMG This made me laugh so hard!
I've seen the link to this video for a while now and finally got around to watching it. It's called World of Wifecraft and a guild called "Bros B4 Hoes" and if the dialogue at the baby shower sounds familiar.... Think Lee Royyy!

Children's Week
What a coincidence! Just prior to logging into WoW last night, I was looking over some screenshots I had taken. About a month ago, I noticed someone with the Children's week pets out.... and I mean pets! Somehow he brought out multiples of them. I have no clue how he did it, but apparently word spread about the bug because I ran into another shortly after. Take a look!

Anyway, I logged in to find that it was Children's Week. I did the quests and forgot what a pain they are to get them to take... especially the portal. But just summon your orphan on the center tile at the bottom of the steps, walk straight up the middle, and stand right at the top of the steps until it completes. She should start running to the portal after a while. If there are others there trying to do the quest it tends to be buggy. Eggbert is cute and runs around everywhere... Exalted reminds me of him. Willy will attack rats. Peanut is cute but I'm not sure if there's anything special about him. Saphyre has Peanut (really cute elephant) and Ivoree has Eggbert. Darkn has Eggbert also.

Remember the Figureprints Everyone was Excited About?
WoW Insider has some photos posted that shows the quality of them, or lack thereof. What a bummer.
Perhaps this other product featured at WoW Insider would be worth the moola.... ummm... ahem. And yes, I was wondering how women would use it and how it seems to defy the laws of gravity. I think Cartman's idea would work a bit better... "mom" with the Cartman accent that is (more like mam). And I'm going to post the movie here in case links get broken in the future. I can keep an eye on it better.
I did notice something else in that movie that is probably closer to reality... the stack of pop cans on the desk. Reminds me of Darkn cousin's basement bedroom (I still object to that little English rule with the location of the "'s"). It was the first time we saw WoW in play. We weren't totally impressed... still in denial as diehard EQ fans. Alright, Marty McFly (TSO), you were right, WoW IS better than EQ and EQ2!

Hmmm Hot Pot
I've been seeing a lot of hot pots lately with that darn daily cooking quest. I have pretty much doing it every day for at least a month. I have 3 of the 5 recipes which seems to be better than most that I have asked so far. It is also fairly profitable since you can cook the meat that isn't used for the quests and sell it in the AH. So I'll keep trying! Not today though.
I'm pretty bummed after my work reunion today. It seems the only time I see my former co-workers these days is at a funeral. It seems like he just retired yesterday and now he's gone. He was too young and had an ironic death I guess you would say. He was a respiratory therapist and died from emphysema. I will never understand how respiratory therapists can smoke. But he was stubborn, he knew he was going because he had all the equipment at home and knew how to read it. He wouldn't allow anyone to call for help thought they eventually did but it was too late. It's pretty typical of him though. Never wanted a fuss over him. Always watching over us girls though we never even really knew it. He rescued me a time or two when I had a flat... always doing it himself instead of getting one of the drivers to do it. Always commenting on changes on my car, like when my Honda emblem disappeared (got stolen) and the plastic frame busted around my plate. I thought it kind of odd that he called me darlin' sometimes but I now know why he called me that and made so many comments about my car. He was quite the car fanatic. He owned quite a few in his lifetime which they showed pictures of. When he retired, he had just bought a Harley edition Ford truck and that was his latest pride and joy. As for why he called me darlin', apparently he said that to a lot of people he cared about... even had a message on his answering machine that said "hello darlin'." It's part of a song.... Can't think of the name, that may even be the name, but it's starts out "hello darlin', it's been a long time..." He was always pretty quiet and I had to really listen to understand what he was saying because his voice was so raspy. He also was hard of hearing which I learned he had dealt with at a young age. When the draft came during the Vietnam War, he and a buddy decided they would go sign up with the Air Force so they could serve together. His buddy was accepted, but he flunked the test due to his hearing but was later drafted into the Army. At first I was sad when I heard the news that he died... the rumor was that he died from pneumonia. But when I learned how he died and that he was he was controlling the inevitable the way he wanted I felt a bit better. Seeing how many family and friends that showed up... more friends than he probably even knew. They showed photos that revealed he was really a very happy content person. Everyone who was there when I first started working for this company attended his funeral, most of whom have moved on... we were like family. I realized how sad it was that I learned more about him at his funeral than I did in the years I worked with him but glad that I knew him a bit more about him than others and glad I took the time to say a few words to the man who greeted me each day when I came to clock in for work while he was on break smoking. He would open the door for me going in and open it for me going out. I think that's also why he noticed my car so much... I had to clock in at the main building so it sat there running a few minutes while I ran in and out and he stood guard and then I drove off to the building I worked in. I had a few temps that would ask me to deal with him on some driver issues (he supervised them for a while). He sometimes had a bit of a short temper but he only had gone off on me twice and both times he apologized. Someone heard him apologize once and was in disbelief. He wasn't yelling really, just frustrated at the situation and I think other events lead up to it. I'm glad I went and didn't let the stress of work keep me from going. It was a good dose of reality and a wake up call with good timing since my vacation is next week. I needed a kick in the butt. It was a very bittersweet day.

So Depressing...

Normally I try to credit the photos and clip arts I use in my blog but I found this one all over. I don't know who really deserves the credit. If they aren't upset about the for profit websites using it, hopefully they won't get upset about me using it on my blog, where I pretty much just ramble on to myself anyway :P
I have been doing battlegrounds for gear for a while now and I've noticed it is depressing. Why? Because there's so much darn negativity in there. People saying "it's over" when the hordies only have 1 flag! Just one! Or, "wtf is everyone doing?" Well, if everyone isn't with Mr WTF, my guess is he/she's the one who needs a clue, especially if he/she is typing.
People contradict one another too. "Don't fight in the middle." Well one of the most successful battleground I had been in, the flag carrier saw the opposing flag carrier and pursued him right in the middle of Warsong Gulch while I healed. He dropped off every one of them and ran to plant the flag. They were flagless and all the way at their base and had no chance to catch us. Quickest WSG ever!
I've noticed that when people say more positive things or joke around with one another, we seem to do better.
How do we fight back? Well, I told Mr WTF that it appeared that he was typing instead of helping. He didn't have a comeback, I was sure he would. And to those who say "it's over," I like Grnpeace's response, "do you roll over for your boyfreind that easily too?" Or something like that. I've probably ruined it. I'm sure he'll correct me later. I thought he said girlfriend but what guy wouldn't say "yeah?" As for all the negativity in general... I'm still trying to come up with things but in the meantime, I had good luck this morning in AV. They seemed to be mature and cooperative players. Not really any speaking what so ever in chat. I joined the queue immediately after exiting and ended up with the same really good players. We had our assigned duties down pat. I had my next piece in 1/4 of the time I would of if I had stayed up later than I did Saturday night. The hordies were all up camping their bosses to make it take longer for us to get honor. They frequently lose AV on Muradin and I think they are kinda peeved about it. Thank goodness they need sleep too. Oh, and I didn't have Grnpeace yelling next to me, freaking out my dogs either. He has been PO'd so many times during a fight that my dogs get afraid when they hear my priest spell jumping (it jumps when we are dying and therefore when he yells the most). Well, pretty much just Angel. Smokey pretends to be afraid so he doesn't feel left out.
For further reading, check out this story at WoW Pro about fighting in Arathi Basin. The author also lists out healing order in that instance which is helpful for those who may not even have given it much thought. I would think it would also apply for the order of attack for tanks.

For those addicted

A lot of us joke that we are Alt-A-holics but there seems to be enough people addicted to WoW that there is an actual support group online called WoW Detox.
I've seen the You Tube Videos and I have even heard that people have actually died because they couldn't stop playing WoW long enough to meet their bodies requirements to stay alive. That I can't even imagine.
There is even an online World of Warcraft Addiction Test. Apparently it was so popular, they created a second for Burning Crusade.
I feel bad for those whose lives are impacted negatively because of WoW. I can definately see how it's possible. But I am fortunate to have a boyfriend who plays WoW more than me and friends online, most of them also play WoW. If only I had family that played WoW... well it would almost kind of be my RL huh? Giving gifts would be easier... gold toward an epic mount... the possibilities are endless. I also have chronic pain so when there's nothing else I can do.... it's something to take my mind of it for a while.
That's my meaningless thought for today......

Druid Peanut Butter?

I ran across this artwork on WoW Vault called Druid Peanut Butter. I don't quite get it.... Anyone care to enlighten me?
Hmmm, reminds me of.... (was a video of the cartoon that featured the song "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" but the content got removed)
Which of course lead me to....
and....
and of course...
and finally....
There's more but I think I've accomplished my mission and got the song stuck in your head. You can thank me later.

Delicious Chocolate Cake
Today I decided to take a break from the battlegrounds and do a daily cooking quest with Ivoree. I had to go to the ecodome in Netherstorm and pick some mana berries. It was simple and I picked up some flight points along the way. My reward recipe was delicious chocolate cake which states it will make you happy for one hour. Curious, I went and gathered the mats and had enough for one cake.

As I ate the cake, I got a happiness buff and fireworks shot into the air. I stood up and the fireworks stopped. That's it? Seems like a lot of mats for just that. So I looked it up on google. I noticed a WoW forum topic with Delicious chocolate cake as the title. So I clicked and proceeded to read it. It seems to be all the cake does but I was amazed at the chatter about the topic, including many people simply stating "the cake is a lie." There was a link to a pretty corny webpage with an equally corny song which provoked some pretty confused stares my direction by Grnpeace. There is also a link to a You Tube Video. Apparently it's the credits at the end of a movie called "Portal" which I've never seen. Maybe someday, perhaps once I've seen the movie, I'll understand and maybe see it's relavance to the fact that this cake pretty much does nothing, unless you like fireworks. But if that's the case, you can just go to Ironforge and purchase some for a lot less trouble.

Pffft Details
In a previous post I mentioned one of the battleground changes coming with the newest patch.... the whole if you die more than 50 times thing. Darkn pointed out that the opposing faction will no longer get honor for killing you not that you will no longer get honor.

Wrath of the Lich King
It seems more and more details of the expansion are being released so I've added the link to WoW's official Wrath of the Lich King page under fun links to keep an eye out for new information. Besides, the graphics are purty!

Remember the Sunwell!
Finally some sense to the madness those blood elves shout! With the release of patch 2.4 there will be a new 5 and 25 man instances located on an island called Sunwell Isle. Maybe someday I'll find out why those Draenei NPC's want me to buy them a car.
The WoW insider has a link to the map of Sunwell Isle.
The patch has the usual nerfs and tweaks but it will add some new recipes that I look forward to. Interestingly, they seemed to have focused on the interface this time around. It looks like Blizzard has taken some hints from some popular addons.
You can make notes on friends to help you remember who they are... I had been hoping for that for a while now. I always mark someone on my friend's list when they have done something nice for me but I never remember what. There is another change related to friends that baffles me. Apparently if someone is on your friends list and they are near, their names glow a different color. No, not a different color on your friends list, but a different color over their heads! Do you really look someone in the face and wonder if they are your friend? "Oh yes, your name is in blue, you're my friend, I'll give you a few gold then." It seems like the colors would be more useful on your friends list. Then you can decide if you want to jump out from behind something and scare them or something. But I don't question the minds of the genious. I think it would be more fun to put sticky notes on their foreheads.
Tradeskill windows have some search options which hopefully will help locate things easier, especially if you don't remember the name but you remember the stats.
They also are making the combat log easier to read and giving you the ability to filter.
This one saddens me... "If a player dies 50 times or more in a battleground, they will no longer be worth honor for the remainder of that battle." How am I ever supposed to get honor? *cry* I took Ivoree with Grnpeace into the battlegrounds for the first time since she was in her 20's. I think I liked battleground more than Grnpeace at the time but back then there wasn't exactly any point to doing them unless you just wanted to wack on someone after a hard day at work. Needless to say I died a few times when I jumped into a mob of horde before I knew what spells I planned to cast.

Mystery no More
Ok, so I was in Un Goro with Saph about the time the expansion came out so I was outta there and to the outlands in no time. I never completed this quest.
Apparently if you continue the quest you can get:
Crystal Force = 10 green and 10 blue power crystals
Increases Spirit by 30 for 30 minutes
Crystal Charge = 10 red and 10 yellow power crystals
383 to 517 fire damage to targets within 3 yards
Crystal Spire = 10 blue and 10 yellow power crystals
Forms a crystal shield around the user and inflicts 12 damage to anyone that hits the user. Lasts 10 minutes
Crystal Ward = 10 red and 10 green power crystals
Increases armor by 200 for 30 minutes
Crystal Yield = 10 red and 10 blue power crystals
decreases your target's armor by 200 for 2 minutes.
Is it worth it, or is it an addiction? The jury is still out.

The Mystery of the Crystals

So I finally dinged my huntard, Ivoree, 70 yesterday. She was my main from another server that I transferred to play with Ashaman and Reggie and one of my first characters.
After the ding I worked on a sliver of rep I had left to get an alchemy recipe.
Once I got the rep and the recipe, I logged onto Saphyre to gather some ore... because now of course Ivoree needs some gold for her flying mount. When I logged on, I realized that she was still in Un Goro. Grnpeace and Ivoree were there getting the key to Scholo forged. We hadn't done that quest yet. Ivoree had to do Scholo to get the amulet that would allow her to see the dead vendor that sold another alchemy recipe. We didn't have any thorium with us so I had logged into Saph to bring some to Grnpeace. So I decided to run around there to see if there was any ore to gather there at the moment. Seeing the crystals had reminded me of some guildies that used the crystals as some sort of buff. So I gathered those I saw thinking I would find out later whether or not they were worth keeping. They seem to have mysterious powers if level 70's were "going through them like candy." I tried to talk to the dwarf in the cave and took and completed the crystal quest, just to get another. I'll have to see if this will lead to the quest that seems to create an obsession with these crystals.
To be continued...
On a personal note, I ventured into my attic today to see what all was up there. I need to take some things up there to get ready to lay some flooring in the bedrooms so I went up there to organize first. At least I accomplished something for the day, though it's still a work in progress.

Welcome! LFG
One of my favorite things to do with the guild website was search the internet for the latest WoW happenings. I see no reason not to continue doing so. I hope you all enjoy it!
